OUR PRAYERS ARE REQUSTED FOR Liam Hegarty, whose funeral will take place in Philadelphia on Tuesday next.  We extend our sympathy to his wife, Maureen, their sons Billy, Patrick, Kevin and Michael, his parents Bill and Betty, his brothers (especially John in this parish), his aunts (most especially Rosaleen Flood in this parish), uncles, and very many cousins.  May he rest in Peace.



We need several new ministers to distribute communion at masses in Staghall.  

Please give names of those who might volunteer to an existing minister in the days ahead.  We hope that those who are invited to help us in this regard will be able to say yes.  We will try to have new lists ready for the new year.  



Christmas Eve:  Milltown  6.30p.m. Staghall 8.00p.m.

Christmas Day: Milltown 10.00a.m. Staghall 11.30a.m.

Reconciliation Service  Sunday: December 23rd :  Belturbet 8.00p.m.  

All Drumlane parishioners are encouraged to attend.  This is a joint service for both parishes.                               

Confessions:   Thursday 20th Dec.:  Milltown 7.00p.m.   Staghall 7.30p.m.

Confessons will be heard in the Cathedral in Cavan all day on Wed. 19th Dec.  


CLEAN-UP & PREPARATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS will take place in Staghall on Monday 17th December and in Milltown on Wednesday 19th Dec.  Both at 7pm.  Please plan to keep an hour available for this important community activity.  



Thanks to all who contributed to the Sunday Offertory Collection and Dues during 2018.  

Offertory Collection=Day-to-day upkeep of each Church, repair & refurbishment of Parish Buildings, Churches and the running expenses of the relevant parish area during the year.  

Dues=Support of the Priest of the Parish during the year.  Boxes for 2019 are now available.  Please contact your local representative to get your box.  It is a considerable help to the distributors if one from each household collects from them.  Try your best not to have them going to every door.  

Your continuing generosity is much appreciated.

USED CLOTHES COLLECTION:  Greaghrahan N. S. will be holding a used clothes collection in the new year.  Please keep in mind in the weeks ahead - all clothes greatly accepted.  More info. at a later stage.


THE COTTAGE MARKET, West Cavan Christmas Market will take place on Sat 15th Dec, 4-8pm in The Courtyard, Lizzie Buggies, Ballyconnell. All welcome.



Ballyhugh House Cultural Centre in keeping with old traditions are hosting the annual Mistletoe Dance on Sun. 16th Dec. at 5pm with music by the very popular Lancers with a traditional afternoon tea to celebrate Christmas.  All welcome.



MILLTOWN INDOOR BOWLS Thursdays at 8.15pm. New members welcome.

The Lotto Jackpot for Tuesday 04/12/18 was €4,600. 

The numbers drawn were 2, 10, 20 and 31.  

There was no Jackpot winner this week, 3 x 50 euro winners Dave McCormack, C/O Railway Bar, Joe Gavin, Newtonbutler, Lily Murphy, Online. The Lotto Jackpot for the coming week is €4,600 in Drumlane Bar on Tuesday 11 Dec @10.00pm, so remember to buy early, if you’re not in you can’t win.

2008 was another year in which the semi-final hurdle of the Intermediate Football Championship proved too high for Drumlane. However, new club secretary Jimmy Kelly gives plenty of reason to believe why the Sons of O’Connell shouldn’t have any fears heading into the future.

A capacity crowd greeted G.A.A. Player Of The Year, County Tyrone's Sean Cavanagh, as he presented medals and player of the year awards to Drumlane's victorious U12 and U13 Footballers and U12 Hurlers in the Drumlane Community centre on Wednesday night January 21st. See photographs below.

Milltown Foroige Club members showed their appreciation for Paddy and Mary Lawlor as they retire after 20+ years of Leadership in Milltown Foroige. The club members put on a fantastic surprise concert of comedy sketches, dance, music and a short film about Milltown and surrounds. They also presented Mary and Paddy with flowers, a Crystal Platter and a delicious cake. Click MORE to view some photos.

As the sun set on the final day of the 2008 Fleadh Ceoil an Cabhain all attention was drawn to the Drumlane Bar where revellers were treated to one of the most memorable sessions held there in recent times.

Day 3 of Fleadh Ceoil an Cabhain 2008 was competition day for a lot of the younger musicians and dancers. Local rock outfit, Ian I Brow provided an extra musical dimension to proceedings. Brendan Smith T.D. and other local politicians were also in attendance. Small groups of musicians had also set up in every corner and alcove around the village to provide mini sessions for a very appreciative audience. See below for images of the day.
