Naturally arrange the date/time of Christening with me. Children should be baptised in their parish of residence.  All those who are presenting their child for baptism are asked to attend a short evening course on the ceremony.  Children must be baptised in their parish of residence.  

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Enrolment meeting for parents will take place in Staghall Church on Tuesday 3rd December at 8.30pm.  
CONFIRMATION ENROLMENT Meeting for parents will take place in Staghall Church on Thursday 5th December at 8.30pm.  
Meetings will last about 45 minutes and both parents of the children are asked to attend.  It should go without saying at this time that children who are to receive the sacrament should be at Sunday Masses with their parents insofar as this is possible.  I will continue to call the children forward at the end of Masses.  Parents are asked to exercise responsibility in this regard.

PREPARING HEART, MIND & SPIRIT - An Advent Service of Carols and Readings will take place in The Conaty Chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on the First Sunday of Advent, 1 December 2019, at 5:30p.m., featuring the Cavan Rugby Club Male Voice Choir under the direction of Dr. Ann-Noelle Bennett with Eileen Tackney as accompanist.  All are welcome to attend this special event.  A voluntary collection will be taken up to support the work of the Sleep Out Cavan Initiative. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

THE COTTAGE MARKET, West Cavan will be holding two market in December: Sat 7th Dec at 1:00 – 5:00pm and Sat 21st Dec. at 4:00 – 8:00pm in The Courtyard, Lizzie Buggies,Ballyconnell. There will be lots of crafts, workshops, hot food/drinks and festive cheer! Thank you for supporting our local community initiative.

BREIFNE HISTORICAL SOCIETY lecture 'Cavan and the Irish Revolution, 1919-23 by Dr. Mel Farrell on Thursday 5 December at 7pm in Johnston Library Cavan. All welcome admission free.

“BOOK OF KNOCKINNY” for sale in local shops in Derrylin,Teemore & KINAWLEY Tues. 3rd (first Tues) Historical Soc, lecture at 8.00pm entitled “The potato was not the problem” by Dymphna Headyen Author and Historian covering famine times in Fermanagh and West Cavan Sat 7th usual monthly music session at 9.00pm refreshments served.

ALZHEIMER SOCIETY OF IRELAND CAVAN BRANCH are holding their AGM meeting on this Monday 25th of November 2019. The meeting takes place in the Farnham Arms hotel, Cavan at 8pm .  Everyone is welcome so many people living with Dementia both they & their families need our support. will take place today, Sunday 1st December, at 4 pm in Milltown Resource Centre. All welcome to join us for an evening of music, chat and craic.

featuring ÉIRU in concert 
will take place in St Mary's Church Staghall on Saturday Night, 7th of December, at 8pm sharp.  Admission Voluntary.  Everyone welcome.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to hear these talented women here in their native parish.  Please spread the word, by mouth, by text, by WhatsApp and whatever way you can.  Make sure and let your extended family members and friends know about what will be a memorable concert.  It will be a wonderful event and will be much talked about afterwards.  Make sure that you and your loved ones do not miss out on the evening’s entertainment.  Afterwards there will be social gathering in Flynn’s Pub.

Eucharistic Adoration will continue every Tuesday 7-8pm.  Everyone welcome for all or part of the hour.  Please seriously consider visiting the Church during that hour even if it is only for 10 minutes.  It is a great opportunity to ask for blessings for yourself and your family circle.

SHARON & LINDA McGURREN express their sincere thanks to everyone who supported their Bake Sale  on the 10th Nov. and helped them to raise money for Pallative Care and Breast Cancer.  They appreciate all the support they received, through donations as well as people baking for them.  Overall they raised €2,660.  €650 was raised after Mass.  This is a great reflection on the parish community and the funds have been handed over to the charities.

Free home insulation applications for fuel-poor households and grant applications are available through Leitrim Warmer Homes for pre-2006 built homes.
