     Title: Opening of "Our Village Space"
The New Memorial Garden- Picnic area called Our Village Space was officially opened on Wednesday June 20

Another great community event in Drumlane.

The official opening of  "Our Village Space" the new memorial garden and picnic area was held on Wednesday June 20.  This is a most beautiful area on the site of the old hall in Milltown village. 
Bernard Burns from Drumlane Community Partnership MC for the evening welcomed all and invited the guests of honour Lily O'Conor and Irwin Morrow to come forward and cut the ribbons to officially open "Our Village Space".
Rev. Tanya Woods & Fr Gerry Comaskey both gave a beautiful Blessing to the amenity and to all the great volunteers present and past. Anna Fitzpatrick Chairperson of Drumlane Community Partnership spoke eloquently remembering all the great volunteers in the community and thanked all the members of the partnership for all their hard work over the years.  She also thanked Leader Breffni Integrated, Cavan Co. Co. Municipal District for funding, Michael Fitzpatrick Architects for the garden design, Peter Kermit, BD Flood Quarries for the large stone and Cathal Cunningham for his work in getting it in place.  Cassidy Monumentals for the engraving and Grainnce Egan for the beautiful verse.  Harvestmoon, and Michael McNulty for the work on the notice board and Buds Landscaping for the planting and Gerry Foster for making watering of the beautiful plants easier.  Clive & Maureen Chamberlain were also thanked for there beautiful work at Milltown Cross as was Peter Maguire for his great work on the community centre and support over the years.
The evening finished up with a presentation to Anna for all her hard work throughout the project and Milltown Comhaltas provided some lovely music while light refreshments were enjoyed by all.
