Pride of Place is an all island competition, which aims to recognise and celebrate the vital contributions that community groups make to society. The competition is hosted by Co-operation Ireland under its Local Authority Programme and offers community groups on both seds of th border an oppertunity to showcase their work and their offorts to build strong sustainable communities, which have a sense of pride in their area and communit.
Drumlane community Partnership were nominated by Cavan County Council in Category 3 population between 500 to1000 and won this categoryat the Awards ceremony in Gorey Co. Wexford in Nov 2011.Minister Phil Hogan Chairman Tom dowling presented the group with their award.
The judges said “The achievements of this community group are truly remarkable. Amost magnificent community complex has been developed, whose facilities are now availed of by the entire population. Where once there was division there is now harmony.
