Foroige update

Dec 6, 2009

Hope the exams are going well for everyone!
On the 15th May the club had their end of year mass in Milltown, members put
together some songs, readings and prayers of the faithful. Many thanks to Fr.
Dan for all his assistance and for a lovely ceremony, also thank you to
those to attended that evening.

It was straight back to work, on the 16th May twelve of us headed off to the
Tullamore Court Hotel for the Citizenship Regional Event. There were four
regional events held in Ireland in May and out of that 20 groups will be
picked for the Citizenship Awards 2009. There was tough competition in
Tullamore with 23 clubs from Meath, Offaly, Roscommon & Cavan with their
projects on display. Sharon Brady & Emma Brady took on the challenge to wow
the judges in the interview. Niamh Reilly & Grace Monaghan accepted a
certificate on behalf on the club as recognition of our project and Linda
McGurren took to the stage to tell everyone about our project. At all times
members were at the display boards which they put together and explained the
project to other clubs and to invited guests.

A great day was had and congratulations to the members who came along that
day and represented the club so well. Only four or five groups will go
through from our event and we are still awaiting the result, we will keep
you posted!!

Milltown Foroige Club hope to paint the wall in Drumlane Abbey between the
21st & 22nd June with weather permitting. On that weekend we are doing a
collection after mass in order to help us raise funds for the equipment
needed such as paint, cleaning material, etc. Your support will be much
appreciated.

A reminder to the members that we will be having a SHORT meeting on Friday
19th June to arrange times for work that weekend also members who wish to
attend our Stay Awake and day trip in July we ask that you attend this
meeting also

It has been a busy year for Milltown Foroige Club the members have worked
very hard during the year and still managed to have fun along the way!
Thanks to all the members who attended Foroige this year and to our
committees who worked hard. we hope to see you again in September if not
