Under 16 Ladies:

Congratulations are due to the under 16 ladies team who rounded off the year in style defeating Mullahoran with considerable ease to land the Under 16 Championship title for 2012. Much credit is due to the management team of Colm Maguire, Mick Leddy and Charmaine Gilroy who guided the team throughout the year and who instilled the belief & confidence within the team to recover from a disappointing league final defeat to Ballymachugh. A fantastic achievement for all the players and mentors involved with this panel whose hard work and perseverance was rewarded with a much deserved championship victory.

Minor Ladies:

Commiserations to our ladies Minor team who were defeated recently by Crosserlough ladies in the Division 2 Championship semi-final. After defeating Gowna ladies the previous week the team were in a positive frame of mind going into the game but were ultimately defeated by a more clinical and more efficient Crosserlough outfit. Although disappointed to lose any game, the manner in which the team battled all though was very encouraging and a positive sign for the future.  With the majority of this panel available next year (if not for a few more years) a minor crown is certainly an attainable goal in the not too distant future. Well done to all players involved with this panel.

Senior Ladies:

Our senior ladies team were defeated in the 9 a side semi-final on the Sunday of the October Bank Holiday weekend by Ballyhaise, a defeat which ultimately ended the season for the team. Although down a number of the more experienced players, a very young and committed Drumlane team battled to the end and only a late breakaway goal from Ballyhaise finally broke the brave Drumlane ladies resolve.  Great credit is due to all the players whose efforts were cruelly denied however the manner in which the team played is certainly a “positive” to carry into a new season.

After a long successful and sometimes frustrating season, special thanks is due to all the mentors, selectors and coaches who have all given of their time to assist with the coaching & development of the players within the club. Without their assistance and dedication Drumlane ladies would not be in such an envied position to field as many teams as they did in the past year. It is hoped that with continued encouragement and development both on an individual & collective basis, the 2013 season can be as rewarding and successful for all the teams who compete and represent this Club/Parish in the coming year.
