Drumlane Under 12’s got off to a winning start in the opening round of the Roinn C League against Drumalee at O’Connell Park, Milltown on Monday evening last (30/03/09).

Both teams started this entertaining match off in a spirited manner and in an attacking fashion.
Captain Seamus King opened the scoring in the first few minutes with a well taken point for Drumlane. From then on, it was an end-to-end match with both sides contributing scores in the early stages.
Drumlane pulled away towards the end of the first-half led by King, Conor Connolly and Cian Maguire.
Drumalee came racing out of the blocks in the second half and claimed back two goals in the space of five minutes.
Neither team gave up as the second half continued. When the referee signalled that it was going into injury-time the score was a draw.
Both sides dug in but in the end Seamus King stole the show for Drumlane by scoring 1-1 in the added on minutes to win it for them including a wonderful goal from the left side into the right hand top corner.

The game scheduled for Monday evening against Knockbride was postponed due to a water-logged field.
