Milltown CCE held their second Mid Summer Trad Fest in the village from June 21 to June 23. The weekend started on Friday with an open Air Launch Concert and BBQ featuring members of Milltown Comhaltas Branch, local dancers and members of neighbouring Comhaltas branches and continued to the early hours with a Seisuin with “Room for one More”. The rain didn’t dampen the spirits. On Saturday morning Music Workshops for all main instruments ran from 10am to 1pm with one hundred and fifty children attending followed by a Group Session led by workshop teachers in the Community Centre, from 1.30 to 3pm. The community centre held its biggest crowd ever with over 400 seated for the wonderful “Dervish” supported by local artists on Saturday night. Sunday morning brought everyone out bright and early for 10am Mass for the deceased members of Milltown Comhaltas, A Craft Fair was held all day in the Community Centre and a treasure hunt for the children. The weekend concluded with a Seisuin in Drumlane Bar. Well done to all the organisers.
