After finishing all-square last Saturday night in Bawnboy, Drumlane and Killeshandra do battle again this Sunday afternoon at Kingspan Breffni Park (throw-in 1.45pm).
Both sides played out a pulsating draw at St Aidan¢¬¢s Park in the dreadful weather conditions which hindered the team to producing a low-scoring affair which finished 0-10 to 1-7.
Drumlane had made the better start with Fergal Brady and Barry Corrigan pointing them into a two-point lead before their opponents hit back with three unanswered frees from Shane Murphy and a well-struck goal by Paddy King.
Ollie Fay¢¬¢s men recovered brilliantly from this to take in a 0-8 to 1-3 lead at the break and stretched their advantage after the resumption to pull four points clear with ten minutes to go.
The town side showed great resolve in the closing stages though and clawed back to within a point as Drumlane¢¬¢s indiscipline at the back was punished by Murphy, who struck the equaliser on the eve of the full-time whistle.
The teams collide again this Sunday at Cavan GAA headquarters, where the winners will take on Bailieborough in semi-finals the following Friday night at the same venue.
