Cavan Mining Objecton Group
An Australian Mining Company is covertly proposing a large scale Zinc Mining operation to start on the lands in Ballyconnell Belturbet area of County Cavan. This proposal poses a very real risk of toxins and chemicals associated with Zinc mining, leaching off site and threatening the health of our families, polluting our drinking water and farmland and causing the disfigurment of the landscape we all grew up with.
The Cavan Mining Objection Group has been set up to protect our health and heritage by opposing this Mining activity. Add your voice and help us petition the Government to ban mining in the area by using the 4 page objection letter provided below. Objection letters are also available at the Drumlane Community Centre, Trisha’s Mini Market and other outlets in the area. Just add your name, address and signature and post the letter to the government address provided as soon as possible. The future health of the area depends on it.
